Mission, vision and values
The Fundación Vela Clásica de España is made up of ship-owners and enthusiasts of vintage and classic boats, true gems of Spanish sailing heritage.
Our objective is to promote and foster classic sailing in Spain, helping to preserve and maintain these boats so they may shine in all their glory on our seas.
We have the support of Puerto Sherry as our project’s focusing element, and our activities are based in its facilities. Furthermore, and thanks to a strong business-oriented drive, we are developing a qualified industry to provide the necessary service to preserve the nautical and cultural aspects of these magnificent boats.
MISSION
The mission of the Fundación Vela Clásica de España revolves around four main areas of activity:
Nautical: Build a collaboration platform with ship-owners for boat maintenance and preservation work.
Cultural: Compile, archive and disseminate the history of classic sailing and its boats in Spain. Special attention is placed on classic yacht sailing.
Social: Promulgate and promote sailing in general, particularly classic sailing. Furthermore, help to preserve the marine habitat and our coast.
Educational: Recover the forgotten art of designing, building and sailing boats, creating schools and workshops, and organising courses and seminars.
VISION
Our Foundation aims to become the leading name in classic sailing in our country, not only bringing our nautical gems close to sea lovers, but the public in general.
Thanks to the Foundation’s vocation to promote and disseminate sailing, it will become one of the main promoters of sailing events and regattas, without forgetting our mission to preserve our seas and coast.
